A lot of leaders say they want feedback and then resent getting real feedback. As an employee it can be so frustrating. They don’t realize it’s a gift. Good article!
I know what it feels like to be inundated and wish htat everyone were “happy” and “quiet”.
But that’s not the path to a great organization. The best leaders reframe feedback as a gift and see the opportunity to not just learn, but to create a culture of shared ownership.
I had a boss who thought she was 'warm, friendly and approachable'. The team confided in me that she was anything but. When I explained this to her, she refused to accept it. Very frustrating! I became the go-between.
