Great pointers, and great compilation :) One thing my managers have done that I really like is having a separate 1:1 for career discussion. It can be less frequent, perhaps once a month or once a quarter but that dedicated time helps. And then career discussion doesn't spill over or constantly cast a shadow in the regular 1:1s
